About Mahasarakham Mahasarakham is a city in the northeast of Thailand in the so-called "Isan" region of the country. Mahasarakham University is a major centre of learning in the region and its Faculty of Informatics is currently enjoying an exciting period of growth, with a blossoming research culture now complementing its traditional teaching strengths. The town itself boasts many temples, as well as numerous restaurants selling delicious Isan food. It is also renowned for its silk and handicraft. MIWAI’09 will take place in the beautiful traditional Thai setting of the Mahasarakham University Museum, on the new university campus in Khamriang.
